I'm Abby!

Rico—my amazing husband and best friend—and I have been married for over 10 years. Together, we’re raising three beautiful children and are blessed to serve side by side on various ministry teams. Family is at the center of my life and the foundation of all I do.

I wear a few different hats, but they all come back to one simple calling: to serve. As a doula and birth photographer, I have the privilege of walking alongside families during one of life’s most sacred and transformative seasons. As a minister, I walk alongside the Church, encouraging and equipping others to pursue Jesus with faithfulness and courage.


The name 1401 Ministries comes from Strong’s Concordance #1401: doulos — a servant, a bondservant. That word captures both sides of my heart: to serve families in birth, and to serve Christ and His Church.


Whether I’m in the delivery room, writing on the blog, or teaching God’s Word, my desire is the same: to point people back to the unchanging truth of Jesus and to be faithful in the place He has called me.

Serving the Church


I hold a Diploma in Biblical Theology and a Diploma in Advanced Biblical Studies from Kineo Ministry Training Center, and I am currently completing additional studies in Theological Historical Studies and Christian Ministry. In March 2026, I will finish my Master of Arts in Biblical Exposition at Liberty University. My long-term goal is to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy in Pentecostal Biblical Interpretation. In the meantime, I serve under the guidance of a local pastor here in Georgia, where I continue to grow in various ministerial roles—as both a student of Scripture and a servant of Christ.

Serving Families


My journey into birth work began with a deep respect for unmedicated labor and out-of-hospital birth. In 2023, I completed my certification as a Professional Labor Doula and later became a VBAC Specialist, as well as a certified home birth midwife assistant. These experiences have allowed me to walk alongside families in their most sacred moments, offering steady support, encouragement, and presence when it matters most.

Serving Through Story


I first picked up a camera in 2010, and what started as a creative hobby quickly became a calling. Through mentorship and practice, my work grew, and some of my early photos were even published. In 2019, I photographed my first birth, and from that point, my lens became a tool for telling stories of beauty, strength, and new beginnings. As I became more connected to the home birth community in North Georgia, photography naturally led me deeper into birth work and my role as a doula. Alongside photography, I also write songs as another form of storytelling. Whether through melody or image, my desire is the same: to capture moments that point back to the presence and faithfulness of God.
